Repeat Prescriptions

For regular medications a repeat prescription service is available.

To order more medication, please follow the steps below and allow 72 hrs (working hours) for your new prescription to be generated.

You have the following options to order your prescriptions:

1) Via email Sladegreen.prescriptions@nhs.net. Please make sure you state your full name, your date of birth, your contact number and preferred Pharmacy. Along with all names of medication being requested.

2) Select a local pharmacy that will request your repeat prescription for you when needed. This can be any pharmacy of your choice. For your ease we have provided you details below of local to the area:

a) Wells Pharmacy, Forrest Road near Slade Green Station - 01322 337445
b) JG Harrisons, 1 Town Square Erith (Opp Farm Foods) in the town centre - 01322 332147
c) Daysol Pharmacy, 3 Parkside Parade - 01322 556356.

3) Via the NHS app

If you have a preferred Pharmacy/Chemist, please mark it clearly on your repeat request via email or notify us via telephone on 01322 334884.

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service where the surgery can send your prescription electronically to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from. Bexley were one of the first areas in the country to start using this service in early 2012.

What does this mean for you?

Instead of visiting your GP practice to collect a paper prescription, your GP will send it automatically to the place you choose, with no chance of it getting lost.
You will have more choice about where to collect your medicines from – a pharmacy near to home or work
You may not have to wait as long for your prescription items, as there will be time to get your repeat prescription items ready before you arrive. If any of the medicines on your prescription are out of stock, they can be ordered in ready for you.
It is the patients responsibility to ensure that they notify the pharmacy and the practice if the pharmacy details have been changed or if they no longer want their prescriptions to go to a pharmacy.

How do I choose a pharmacy to collect my medicines from?

Patients need to choose a pharmacy to collect medicines from by completing a ‘nomination form’ available from participating chemists.

NHS prescription charges

Most adults in England have to pay prescription charges.

Some items are always free, including contraceptives and medicines prescribed for hospital inpatients.

The current prescription charge is £9.65 per item.

A prescription prepayment certificate (PPC) could save you money on NHS prescription costs:

a 3-month PPC costs £31.25
a 12-month PPC is £111.60
a 12-month PPC for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) only is £19.30

Minor ailments can be treated at home with the support of your local pharmacy. The practice is unable to routinely prescribe medicines for self-care that can be brought readily for supermarkets and pharmacies without a prescription.
